Elizabeth Ann (Faloona) Stone

Elizabeth Ann Faloona Stone, 85, of Amarillo passed away Monday, January 21, 2019.

Vigil for Mrs. Stone will be held at 6pm Wednesday January 23rd.  Mass service will be celebrated at 2pm on Thursday, January 24th. Both services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on 4100 S. Coulter St with Rev.  John Valdez. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler funeral home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Stone was born July 5, 1933, in Chicago Illinois to Patrick and Catherine Faloona. She was the youngest of six children. She married the love of her life, Forrest Stone Jr., on November 21, 1953, in Chicago. They moved to Amarillo in 1968 and called it home. They had a wonderful life together for over 58 years.

Elizabeth was a devoted military wife, loving mother of five, grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 6.  She was a stay at home mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and watching them grow.

Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Forrest Stone, Jr., a sister Theresa Kelley and brothers Robert, George and Phillip Faloona.

Mrs. Stone is survived by, her five children, Ron Stone and partner Michael Sugden, Mary Puckett and husband Jimmy, Jeannie Abernathy Salinas and husband Tom, Theresa Heflin and wife Julie Bruce, Linda Peters and husband Mark, her sister Eileen Larson of Chicago, seven grandchildren, Laura Abernathy, Robert Abernathy, Joseph Abernathy, Kenneth Puckett, Kimberly Hamlin and husband Chris, Katie Peters, Gracie Peters, six great grandchildren Jenifer Puckett, Alyssa, Kaleb, Devyn, Jacob Abernathy and Hunter Hamlin.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Legacy Rehabilitation & Living Center of Amarillo, and Open Heart Hospice.
