Elsie Marie Kerns

Elsie Marie Kerns 97 passed away on November 15, 2014 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, November 21 at Llano Mausoleum with Rev. Scott Raines of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S Georgia, Amarillo, TX.
Mrs. Kerns was born in Panhandle on October 9, 1917 to Harry and Cornie Crawford. She moved to Topeka, KS. and later to San Diego, CA. She graduated from Washburn University in Topeka and took post graduate work at San Diego State. She taught school for seventeen years for the San Diego City Schools. While in San Diego she met and married Francis Kerns in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a past Matron of the Eastern Star and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Elsie and her husband have been generous donors to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Burn Hospitals for Children.
