Elsie Caroline McDaniel, age 90, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013.
Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. at Llano Cemetery with Dr. Sheldon DeVries of Crosspointe Church officiating. Memorial Service will be at 4:00 P.M. at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Elsie was born March 22, 1922 in Oak Hill, Kansas to Charles William Killen and Grace Elizabeth Killen. She graduated from Oak Hill High School. In 1950, she married John McDaniel and they were married for 58 years until his death in 2008.
Elsie grew up during the depression and she always cherished life and the value of her family. She had the honor of serving as a school teacher during WWII. She enjoyed crocheting and she and John enjoyed spending time with their friends in their various R.V. clubs. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband John.
Elsie is survived by two daughters, Joyce Calhoun and husband Bryan of Cedar Crest, NM and Marcia McDaniel of Bentonville AR; one son, Gary McDaniel and wife Michelle of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Carly Dobbins, Nicholas Calhoun, Michael McDaniel and Alyssa McDaniel and 4 great-grandchildren.
