Emilio Placencio, 94, of Amarillo died March 1, 2019.
Rosary will be said at 6:00PM, Monday, March 4, 2019 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM, Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 411 E. Texas Blvd in Dalhart. Burial will follow in Dalhart Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church from 9:30am until 10:30am. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Emilio was born November 27, 1924 in Dalhart, TX to Victorino and Guadalupe Placencio. He proudly served in United States Navy from 1943-1946 on the ship, USS Lancewood and re-enlisted into the United States Marine Corps from 1947-1950 served in the Korean conflict. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He married Maria Trinidad on August 26, 1958. Emilio worked for the Post Office of Dalhart for 34 years and retired in 1978.
He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dalhart.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria Trinidad Placencio; son, Martin J. Placencio; 4 sisters; 3 brothers; 2 brother in laws; and 3 sister in laws.
Emilio is survived by his daughters, Luz Smart and Jane Placencio both of Amarillo; Adriana Placencia-Camarena; and son, George Placencio of Austin; 6 grandchildren, Ana Aleman, Nicholas Biera, Christopher Placencio, Elisabeth Placencio, John Paul Placencio and Melissa Fierro; and 5 great-grandchildren, Malia, Mikeal, Ahvayah, Anthony Jr., and Aalina; a sister Mary Mares of El Paso, TX and his brother Joe Placencio of San Pedro, CA.
