Emma Maudie Webb

February 20, 1915 — August 20, 2009

Spunk, wit, determination and strength are words that immediately come to mind when remembering Maudie.
If you wanted to know Maudie’s opinion on a matter all you had to do was ask…or…you could just wait a few minutes and she would tell you anyway.  Maudie could beat anyone, except “Scrap” at dominos.  She taught her grandson, Charlie, at an early age how to play poker.
Maudie grew up in Perrin, TX where she played basketball as a young girl.  Both of her parents died when Maudie was a teenager and soon after she made the move to Amarillo where she met and married N.H.”Scrap” Webb in 1938.  They had two sons, Jay and Dean.  When  Scrap died in 1984 then she found comfort in her church family and Sunday School Class at Southlawn Baptist.  In 1987 she found happiness and companionship when she married Richard Miller.  Richard died in 1995.
Maudie enjoyed living the last eight years of her life with her son, Dean and his wife Linda.
Maudie was preceded in death by her husbands, four brothers and three sisters.
Maudie’s family will always remember her entertaining ways. Her family members include two sons, Dean Webb and wife Linda of Amarillo and Jay Webb and wife Laura of Plano. Four grandsons Britt, Kiley, Brooks and Charlie, and five great-grandchildren. One sister, Letty Pauline Minear of Denton and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be to Odyssey Hospice, 6900 I-40 West Suite 150, Amarillo, TX 79106.
The family is so appreciative of the Odyssey Hospice Organization…Yvonne, Yolaine, Bea, Jennifer, Dr. Carrizo and Richard Higley.
