Emmett was born August 27, 1929 in Bowie, Texas to parents Emmett and Mary Julia Poynor. In 1950, he married Laverne Farrar. Emmett loved the Lord and dedicated his life to serving others. Emmett enjoyed retirement and if you wanted to find him, all you had to do was go to the Donut Stop, Hud’s or Henry D’s and there he sat laughing and cutting up with his retirement buddies.
