Enid M. Cothren, age 93 formally of Amarillo, died in Humble on May 1, 2015.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6th at Llano Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Enid was born April 29, 1922 in Winchester, England to William and Edith Barton. She served in the A.T.S England’s Women’s Army, from 1942 until 1945 before moving to the states.
Enid worked in retail at Blackburn’s for twenty-seven years. She was married to Roy Martin until his death. Enid then started a new chapter in her life when she married Ernest Cothren on December 5, 1987. The family was devoted and active members at First Baptist Church.
Enid had been living in Kingswood since 2013 to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Cothren on June 22, 2013.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home tonight from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Her survivors include two step-daughters, Claudette McKee of Houston and Debbie and husband John Lewis of Colorado; a step-son, Larry Cothren and wife Bonnie of Australia; six step -grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Josh, Sara, Fielding and Alex; and 11 step-great-grandchildren, Parker, Logan, Matthew, Claire, Kennedy, Gage, Chloe, Hudson, Fielding, Brooke and Aiden; a niece Donna Hayes and a nephew Charles Simmons.
