Erma Wynnette Hunt

Erma Wynnette Hunt, 54, passed away on June 14, 2022.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 6pm to 7:30pm at Schooler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Schooler Funeral Home’s Brentwood Chapel on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10am with Pastor Craig Lawlis officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 Interstate 27 South. Arrangements are in the care of Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia in Amarillo.

Erma was born on March 16, 1968 in Amarillo, Texas to Dale Rush and Diana Gail Henson. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1987. Following high school, Erma attended Amarillo College where she obtained a Vocal Performance Degree, and rounded out her education by receiving her Medical Assistant Administration Degree. She was the family “song bird” who could and would sing just about anything. She performed with the Amarillo Opera.

Erma is preceded in death by her husband Darren Hunt. Those left to cherish her memories are her father “Big Daddy” Dale Rush and wife Konnie of Aledo, “Little Daddy” Wayland Henson, sisters Cindy Lanier of Amarillo and Josie Henson of Kingston, Oklahoma and her daughter Alisha; her aunt Geraldine Griggs and husband Ray, uncle Travis Rush; and cousin Karen Fletcher of Lubbock who was more like a sister to her. Erma also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and dear friends.
