Ernest Glenn Haney, 84, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Glenn was born June 1, 1933 in Vernon to Darwin and Jewel Marie Haney. He married Georgia Murphy in 1952 in Vernon, and they moved to Dumas. He served in the Army in Germany for two years. Upon returning, they moved to Amarillo and he returned to his job at Colorado Interstate Gas Company as an electrician and retired after forty two years. He loved spending time with his grandkids and was popular with all the neighbors and neighborhood kids. He was a fixture in the neighborhood.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Evelyn Pinner.
Glenn is survived by his wife Georgia; his daughters, Deborah Peek and husband, Larry of Amarillo, Darla Miller and husband, Mike of Amarillo; and his son, Darren Haney and wife, Carla of Checotah, OK; his brother, Jim Russell and wife, Mary Jo of Amarillo; his grandchildren Sarah Kruger and husband, Matt of Plano, Matthew Peek and wife, Bobbi, Brandon Miller and wife Lauren, and Dustin Miller and Meagan, and Kalli Haney, all of Amarillo; and six great grandchildren.
