Evan Taylor Lewis

Evan Taylor Lewis, 22, of Amarillo passed away Monday, May 21, 2018.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 31, 2018 in the Amarillo Botanical Gardens with Dr. William Summerhill officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Evan was born June 21, 1995 to Drs. Douglas Evans Lewis and Beverly Axe-Lewis. He graduated from Ascension High School in 2013. Evan attended college at both South Plains Community College and Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He was adventurous and loved all of nature—children, animals, the land and seas, and even the crazy Panhandle weather. He enjoyed snowboarding, snowmobiling, swimming, wake boarding and skateboarding. He was generous, fun loving, and never met a stranger or an animal he couldn’t befriend. Evans’s laughter and smile brought joy to everyone in his presence. Most importantly, he loved his family and friends fiercely.

Evan is survived by his parents; two brothers, Benjamin Lewis and his family, and Casey Lewis; his grandparents, Edwin and Patricia Axe; Mert Lewis; Roy and Nancy Lewis.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Evan Taylor Lewis Scholarship Fund c/o First United Bank P.O. Box 50010 Amarillo, Texas 79159.
