Evelyn H. Baker, age 88 of Amarillo, passed away on June 14, 2016 in Amarillo.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4317 W I-40, Amarillo, Texas 79106 with the Rev. Steve Stephens, minister, officiating.
Mrs. Baker was born on October 16, 1927 to Ted and Lola Shelby in Memphis, Tennessee. She married George Baker on August 2, 1946 in Amarillo. She loved to volunteer and play the piano at various nursing homes throughout Amarillo. She was a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, George Michael Baker and a son-in-law, Tom Oliver.
Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Oliver, and Pat Cline and husband Gordon; two grandchildren, Matt Cline and wife Sarah, and Shelby Cline; four great grandchildren, Anabelle, Kennedy, and Carter Rose, and Asher Cline, all of Amarillo.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home Friday, June 17, 2016 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM.
The family suggests memorials be made to Olivia’s Angels, c/o BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th, Suite 100, Amarillo, TX 79106 or Ware Living Center Hope Fund 400 W. 14th Amarillo, Texas 79101.
