Evelyn Crew Kelley age 95 of Amarillo died December 22, 2010.Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2010 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Rev. Cliffton Mann with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery Amarillo, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas.Evelyn was born June 13, 1915, in Betterton, Maryland to Walter and Eva Crew. She moved to Amarillo in 1978 after living in several states. She received her nursing degree in 1937 at Maryland General Hospital. She served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S Army Nurse Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was stationed in Australia as well as tours on two hospital ships.Evelyn was a homemaker and she loved taking care of her home and family. Until 1998, when bad health incapacitated her, she was an active member and volunteer at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Amarillo and played in every bridge game she could find.She is survived by, daughter Barbara Kelley of Columbia Heights, Minnesota; son, Walt Kelley and wife, Magali of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Richard Kelley and wife, Starla of Amarillo; and Erik Kelley of Amarillo; three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Jonathan, and Nathan.Memorial Contributions may be made to Craig Methodist Retirement Community, 5500 SW 9th Ave Amarillo, Texas 79106;
