Evelyn Pfanmiller

Evelyn Louise Pfanmiller, age 90 died April 5, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at Hillside Christian Church West Chapel on Thursday, April 10th at 2:00 PM.  The Rev. Mike Nuthman and Rev. Bev Gambrel will officiate.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Evelyn was born on October 13, 1923 in Wayne, Nebraska to her parents Frank and Alice Tucker.  Her parents later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where Evelyn graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941.  She married Al Pfanmiller on September 28, 1941 and on September 28, 2013 celebrated 72 years of marriage.  During her marriage she traveled to many destinations, following her husband as a Postal Inspector.  She lived in Amarillo, TX for 16 years until 1968, during that time Evelyn volunteered at the Veterans Hospital and volunteered for all the Scouting programs while her children were growing up.  She was employed by the Amarillo School System for six years as an attendance clerk at Fannin Junior High School.  In 1975 her husband retired and Amarillo became their home again.  From 1975, they spent the winter months in Mesa, Arizona for about twenty years.  She had many friends and enjoyed the activities offered by the retirement community.  She also enjoyed spending time in Harlingen, TX and Alamo, Texas where some of her neighbors spent the winter months in a mobile home retirement park.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Tucker, two brothers, Robert and Dale Tucker and her daughter Aleen Norrid.
She is survived by her husband, Al of the home, a daughter Bobette Conatser and husband Bob of Amarillo, and son Jim and wife Deborah of Lubbock, TX; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Hillside Christian Church West Campus, 6100 Soncy, Amarillo, Texas 79119.
