Evelyn Renner died peacefully after a long struggle with dementia on September 16, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. , Saturday, September 26, 2015, at
Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas. Minister Mike Suiter of the Church of Christ will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo.
She was born on March 30, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Cox and Mattie Harris Cox. She was 95 years old. Evelyn lived in Norman, Oklahoma until she moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1948, where she was employed by the United States Government until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and her husband, Harold.
She is survived by her son, Wendell and his wife, Pat of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Grandsons, Greg Hamilton and family, Redlands, California, Chris Hamilton and family, Norman, Oklahoma, Jon Hamilton and family, Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Christopher Hamilton and family, Grapevine, Texas; Six great grandchildren and two nieces, Gayle Loveless and family, Noble, Oklahoma and Renee Liddle and family, Berthoud, Colorado.
The family wishes to express love and gratitude to the special staff and caregivers of Methodist Manor – Cobb Landing, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Grace Hospice, Tulsa, Oklahoma, for their wonderful care provided during the years Evelyn resided in Methodist Manor.
Visitation will be held from 6 –7 pm, Friday, September 25, 2015, at Schooler Funeral Home.
