Red was Ferns very favorite color and she was a firecracker. She did things her own way and not a minute before she was ready. In true Fern fashion, she went to be with her husband exactly 43 years and 30 minutes after he passed. She remained faithful to him and never remarried for all those years.
She loved to square dance and was a member of starlite squares for many years. She loved to go to the Kettle and have coffee with her friends after square dancing on Thursday nights. She was quite possibly the biggest John Wayne fan ever to live and has seen every movie so many times she has the lines memorized.
Fern was a Methodist for her whole life and was a member of 10th street Methodist church.
Fern was also a caregiver. She cared her mother and her aunt and uncle in her home until their last days. She also loved to care for her grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews who all meant the world to her.
Fern was preceded in death by her father Harrison Gulley; her mother Ruby Gulley; a brother Gotha Gulley; her husband Oscar Kimbell; a son Maurice Kimbell; 2 grandsons Jeremy Kimbell and Chris Kimbell; and one great-grandson Christopher Kimbell.
Fern is survived by 2 sisters Donna Ornelas and Glenna Harper; a daughter Joan Hill and husband John; a son Raymond Kimbell; dear friend Ruth Cavaness; 9 grandkids, Ronnie Morrison, Misty Connelly and husband Schonn, Stacie Morrison and wife Courtney, Christina Kimbell and husband Trevor, Tamra Kimbell, Jessica Varillas and husband Paul and Keith Kimbell; 14 great-grandkids; 2 great-great grandkids; and many very special nieces and nephews who she loved very much.
