Floyd "Sonny" Dell Tiffin, Jr.

Floyd "Sonny" Dell Tiffin, Jr., 76, of Amarillo passed on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Journey Church, 9711 FM 2186, Amarillo, Texas with Brad Sanders as officiant. Interment with military honors will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Floyd "Sonny" Tiffin, was born November 15, 1944 in Greenville, TX to Floyd Dell, Sr. and Georgia Murl Tiffin. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1963 and married Darlene Buck in Buffalo, OK on June 1, 1969.

Floyd was a member of the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge #1020, the Khiva Shriners, and the Army National Guard. His love was fishing, golfing and coaching his children in their many different sports. Then, as his grandkids started participating in their activities and sports, he enjoyed watching all six of them compete. He also loved spending time with the family, especially the trips to the mountains where he taught all his kids and grandkids to fish. Often hosting the annual “Tiffin Family Reunion”, he enjoyed the visits and time with loved ones. In his spare time, he spent numerous hours researching our family history, listening to family stories and digging into the family's genealogy. Floyd finally retired in October 2018 after working in the insurance industry.

Floyd was proceeded in death by his parents; and twin grandchildren, Maddox Wayne and Malori Annette Cotter.

Survivors include his wife of almost 52 years, Darlene Tiffin, of Amarillo, TX; son, Richard Tiffin of Little Elm, TX; daughters, Brandi Fernandes and husband, Karl, of Amarillo, TX; Cheryn Cotter and husband, Toby of Canyon, TX; Shawna Tiffin and fiancée, Marcus Wallace of Amarillo, TX; six grandkids, Addyson, Bentley, Ansley, Zayden, Baylee, and Kamryn; sister Loretta Bourland and husband, Rusty of Refugio, TX; brother, Rick Tiffin and wife, Cloris, of Llano, TX. and many, many more loved family members and friends.
