Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5th, at Claude Cemetery, Claude, TX. Mr. Glen Walton will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Frances was born on January 24, 1920, to Wylie F. and Flossie (Lill) Morris, ranching pioneers in the Texas Panhandle, in Clarendon, TX. She attended Clarendon Public Schools, graduating from high school in 1938. She then graduated from West Texas State College in 1942, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and a Masters Degree in Education in 1958. She did her graduate work at North Texas State College in Denton, TX. Frances had a long teaching career, from the Magnet School at Old Tascosa, to Channing ISD, Claude ISD, and retiring in 1981 after 28 years, in the Panhandle ISD. Frances married Guy Wester in Amarillo, TX, on January 13, 1945. He passed away on October 14, 1953. She married George W. Curyea in Panhandle, TX, on November 23, 1960. He passed away on January 19, 1977. She was a volunteer member at St. Anthony’s Hospital Auxiliary, the Veterans Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Panhandle Retired Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association and National Educators Association. Survivors include her son, Wes Wester of Amarillo and her numerous nieces and nephews.
