Frances L. Rogers Dauner, 84, of Amarillo, TX died Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Duquoin Cemetery near Harper, KS. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo.
Mrs. Dauner was born in Barber County, KS to Deyoe Elvin Rogers and Eva Gay Snyder Rogers. She graduated high school from Hardtner High School in 1945 and earned her Associate in Business from Amarillo College.
She married William R. Dauner in 1946 in Wichita, KS. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1996.
Besides her primary accomplishments as a devoted mother and community volunteer, she worked for the Santa Fe Railway (now BNSF) and retired with thirty years of service. She was an active long-term member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She touched the lives of many people through her volunteer work with United Methodist Women, Wesley Community Center, and Amarillo Botanical Gardens. She was a visiting grandma for children at Landergin Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Dauner Howard, in 1982, and her husband, William R. Dauner, in 1997, and five brothers.
Survivors include her children Barbara Dauner Wheeler of Pflugerville, TX, Dick Wheeler, Jeffrey Dauner of Amarillo, TX, and Daniel and Donna Brown Dauner of Fort Collins, CO; six grandchildren, Kristen Deloney, Laura Cook, Nathan Nolen, Michael Green, Joseph Dauner, and Brian Dauner; six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is 5:00pm to 6:00pm, Sunday at Schooler Funeral Home.
