Frances Elizabeth Goodin, 87, of Amarillo, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Rosary will be said 7:00 pm today, Thursday May 19th, at Schooler Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, May 20th at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral with Rev. Scott Raef as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Frances was born March 6, 1929 in St. Francis, Texas to Aloys and Martha Bichsel. She married Lloyd Merle Goodin at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on May 10, 1950. Frances was the secretary for St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years. After that she worked in the library coordinator’s office for AISD and also served on St. Anthony’s Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society. She loved her church, kids, grandchildren, and was always ready to go watch her kids in whatever they were doing. She was proud of her family as she was considered the family historian.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1991; her parents; a brother, C.J. Bichsel; and a sister, Georgene.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Kathy and late husband Gene Cayton of Amarillo and Lisa Garner of California; three sons, Les Goodin and wife Brenda, Paul Goodin and wife Debbie and Danny Goodin and wife Lisa all of Amarillo; sister, Regene Connell of Plano; brother, Maynard Bichsel of Washburn; ten grandchildren, Brad Goodin and wife Mande of Umbarger, Shay Kindle and husband Chris of Maple, Greg Goodin and wife Emily of Dallas, Gwen Merrill and husband Brandon, Kim Bush and husband Jack all of Amarillo, Sara Cayton of Lubbock, Taylor Riggs and husband Nick of Galveston, Gavin Goodin of Amarillo, Ryan Garner and Austin Garner of California; and nine great-grandchildren, Grason Goodin, Madison Merrill, Seane Goodin, Brayden Bush, Tripp Goodin, Graham Goodin, Ethan Bush, Cree Kindle, and Case Kindle.
