Frances Darlene Mayfield age 77 of Amarillo died Saturday.Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel with Sherman Eastland Chaplain of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S Georgia St.Our family would like to announce the celebration that our Mother has gone home to be reunited with her husband Jim. Married for sixty-one years Jim and Darlene were constantly together and now both in the presence of Jesus. She will continue watching and praying over us as she did during her life. Born Frances Darlene Totty in Mobeetie, Texas, she loved the Texas Panhandle and her second home in Sunday Canyon. Mom enjoyed camping with Jim and a pup named Gidget. Her greatest love on earth was her six children. She was the greatest stay-at-home mom, helping with school projects, making sure meals were always on the table on time, and providing the best growing up experience any kid could want. Darlene enjoyed her plants, flowers and the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents, and a brother Ronnie. She is survived by a sister Lucy Stafford and husband Carrol of Mora, New Mexico, three sons, James Mayfield, Richard Mayfield and wife Kathy, and John Mayfield and wife Mary Ellen; three daughters, Vicky Daniel and husband Danny, Sherry Jones and husband Dan of Dripping Springs, Tx. and Donna Blackman and husband Darryl of Healdton, Ok.; Twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.The family would like to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice for their love and kindness.
