Francis N. Carroll, 83, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 10:00AM Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Military Honors provided by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are with Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Francis was born on February 12, 1933 in Norton, Kansas to Charles and Genevieve Carroll. He graduated from Norton High School and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. He married the love of his life, Patricia Brault on May 28, 1956 in Norton. In May of 2016, they celebrated 60 years of marriage together. He was an avid tennis player and loved the sport. He and Pat began RVing in 1986, something they enjoyed doing together. He was very skilled and enjoyed fixing things. He had a deep love for animals and his pets. He retired from the F.A.A. after 32 years of loyal service. Francis was a member of the N.A.R.F.E. (National Active & Retired Federal Employees), a lifetime member of the V.F.W. #430, and the W.I.T. (Winnegao Itasca Travelers). Francis was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Breiner; and one brother, Joseph Carroll.
Francis is survived by his wife Patricia of Amarillo; two sons, Daniel Carroll and wife Linda, and Rickard Carroll, all of Amarillo; four sisters, Mary Richards of Miltonvale, KS, Janice Carroll of Canon City, CO, Anita Carroll of Manhattan, KS, and Genevieve Diekemper of Idaho; three brothers, Duane Carroll of Wichita, KS, Tim Carroll of Florida, and Lawrence Carroll of Wamego, KS; 3 grandchildren, Trisha Caudle and husband Bryan of Ft. Worth, Traci Pacheco of Amarillo, and Jason Pacheco of Amarillo; 5 great-grandchildren Ashley McDavid, Tyler Caudle, Halie Caudle, Liberty Bean, and Colten Clark; and 3 great great-grandchildren, Jesse, Annalee, and Lucy McDavid.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home.
