Frances Rose “Fran” Currigan, age 81, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Amarillo.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S Coulter, with the Rev. Scott Raef as celebrant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Frances was born in Groom, Texas in 1931, to Frank and Anna Nepper Koetting. She married Tom Currigan in Amarillo in 1975. She had been a resident of Amarillo for 8 years and prior to that she had lived in Los Angeles, Denver, and Florida. She worked for many years in the insurance business. While living in Ft. Myers, Fl., she enjoyed making ceramics and teaching ceramics classes. She was also involved in Community Theater. Frances loved to work in her flower beds. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Louise Williams and Bernice Koetting; two brothers, James Koetting and William Koetting; and one grandson, Cody Acklin.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; four daughters, Pam Acklin and husband, Wayne, Patty Williams and husband, Dennis, all of Amarillo, Paula Reed and partner, Rich Dimeo of West Chester, PA, Colleen Currigan of Chicago Il.; two sons, Monroe Davis and wife, Beverly of Amarillo, Tom Currigan, Jr. and wife, Diane, of Denver CO.; one sister Mildred Ann Dowdy and husband, Sam of St. Louis, MO.; one brother, Ed Koetting and wife, Yvonne of Borger; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and many friends she considered family.
