Franklin Rothwell Taylor, 85, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 7, 2016.
Memorial Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 16th at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Rev. Scott Rankin will officiate. Military honors will be provided by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Mr. Taylor was born on July 28, 1930 in Lawrence, KS to John and Pauline Taylor. He served in the US Army and upon completing his service in the Army he enlisted in the US Air Force, from which he retired.
He met and married Eileen Griffin on February 22, 1958 in London, England while he was serving overseas.
Mr. Taylor was a kind, generous and loving individual. He treasured his wife and family, especially his precious grandchildren and his dogs! Family, two legged or four; brought joy to his heart. He was a talented photographer and artist. He enjoyed sharing those talents with others and often would teach a senior citizens art class.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Eileen; three daughters, Sharon Brickell and husband Todd of Long Island, NY, Janine Taylor Valdez and husband Manuel of McMinnville, OR, and Piper Morris and husband Chris of Amarillo, TX; a son, Franklin R. Taylor Jr. and wife Angela of Amarillo, TX; and eight grandchildren, Noreen, Matthew, Wynter, Dustin, Jordan, Eileen, Julia, and Kristyn.
