Gail was born April 26, 1955 in Valpariso, FL to Charles and Hazel Marie Writch. She married David Day on June 1, 1995 in Alaska. Gail loved the outdoors and fishing on the banks of Alaska. In Alaska, she worked in the oil industry, logistics and getting equipment and materials to the North Slope. Gail moved to Amarillo in 2000 and became property manager for Independence Village. She loved her residents always making them feel special until her retirement in 2016. She loved to eat at La Fiesta, and Texas Roadhouse being her favorite. Everything Gail did was for someone else; she was perfect and a best friend to all. Gail was over the moon for her puppy, Gracie, a fireball of chi-weenie. She would cut up her food and babied her all the time even sleeping right next to her and David every night since day one.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel Writch.
Gail is survived by her husband of almost 27 years, David Day; daughter, Tara Milligan (Johnny) of Amarillo, TX; sons, Clinton Woodlief (Lori) of Georgia and Brandon Day (Lydia) of Wasilla, AK; sisters, Cindy Rahn (Bruce) of Georgia, Becky Longoria (David) of Tennessee, and Susan Mosley (Ben) of Texas; brother, Alan Writch (Bobbi) of Georgia; grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Audrey, Darby, Wyatt, and Marshall.
