AMARILLO- Garnett C. Bryan, 84, of Amarillo died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 1st at Saint Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will follow immediately at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Garnett was born Sep. 15, 1931, in Amarillo to Garnett C. and Bessie Bryan.
In 1955, Garnett married Cheryl Burson.
Garnett attended Texas Tech University for undergrad and received his MD from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1958. He completed his Family Practice residency in Tulare, California. He treated patients in private practice for 34 years and then went on to teach at Texas Tech Medical School in Amarillo in 1994. In 2012, at the age of 80, he retired.
Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 29th 5-6 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Cheryl; sister, Katy Darnell; daughter, Leigh Ann Wright, grandson Joshua Wright and granddaughter Megan Wright; son Gary, and his wife Kim; daughter-in-law Natalie, grandson Jeffrey and granddaughter Claire.
He is preceded in death by his son Grady and his siblings Jean Busick, Jo Schafer, Tommi Garoutte, and R.L. Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
