Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. The Rev. Dale Travis of Family Life Fellowship will officiate. Entombment will be at Llano Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Bio:Gary was born in Borger, Texas to William and Earline Peters Robinson on May 29, 1934. He graduated from high school in Maysville, OK in 1952 and then received his Associate Degree from Frank Phillips College. He married the love of his life, Linda Duncan on October 7, 1970 in Denton, Texas. The family moved to Amarillo in 1971 when Gary took a sales position as a pre-arrangement funeral specialist with Blackburn-Shaw where he worked until 1976. Throughout his life he worked as a salesman, after leaving Blackburn-Shaw he began a career that spanned 18 years with Hoover Brothers, Inc., selling school supplies and equipment. After retirement in 1994, Gary started selling pre-arranged funerals again, something he believed in. Gary considered it a ministry. A kind, loving, caring, man, Gary strived to make one of life’s most tragic times a little more bearable for the family left behind. Schooler Funeral Home was honored and blessed to have been “home” to Gary since 2003. In addition to his work life, Gary was a loving devoted, husband and father. His true passion was for his precious grandchildren; his eyes sparked just with the mention of them. He also had a fondness for animals, never missing an opportunity to love on one. He and Linda loved to travel, Branson being his favorite vacation spot. They sailed the Caribbean last year and enjoyed traveling at every chance they had as long as they were together. Gary enjoyed music, and before his health prevented it, he and Linda square danced for years and were active members in Family Life Fellowship Church. One mustn’t forget what a big OU fan he was. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.Gary is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter Deana Robinson; a son Michael Robinson and his wife Grace of Warwick, RI; and his four precious grandchildren, Toby Mask, Mason Jones, Elaina and Nathaneal Robinson.
