Gene Arthur Cox, 77, of Amarillo, passed away on September 10, 2015.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Church at Quail Creek with Rev. Dale Moreland and Rev. Kyle Clayton officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Gene was born in Midland, on October 5, 1937. He attended AHS and SMU before meeting and marrying the love of his life Nadia Holmes. They were married on August 2, 1958.
He was a Kirby distributor in Borger, Bartlesville, and Rockford. Gene and Nadia also owned Area TV and Appliance, the Tiny Tot Shoppe and currently own Maryland House Antiques. He enjoyed music, fishing, riding his motorcycle and he delighted in his grandchildren.
Gene was a member of The Church at Quail Creek. He was devoted to the Lord and to the church. He served the church in many capacities and loved his church family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Thelma, and a son, Aaron Lee Cox on April 1, 2015.
Gene is survived by his wife, Nadia; daughters, Kimberly Palacios and husband Alex of Ennis, and Gena Pyeatt and husband Eddie of Allen; son, Trent Cox and wife Judy of Houston; a brother Tommy Wayne Cox and wife Nancy of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren, Joe Brian, Hunter, Lauren, Andrew, Coleman, Layton, Brandon, and Wren.
