George Harrison Lokey, 79, of Amarillo died June 11, 2014.
Memorial Service will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 16, 2014 at Amarillo Botanical Gardens with Regi Fowler officiating. Private interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
George was born March 25, 1935 in Amarillo, Texas to Ted H. Lokey and Stella Yeatts Lokey.
He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and later the University of Oklahoma. Directly after college George joined the Marine Corp and was a proud graduate of the third basic class of 1957 at Quantico. He was stationed in Japan and then travelled around the world. George was a member of First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Lokey and his sister, Mary Alice Shelton.
George is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vicki McLean Lokey; son Alexander “Alec” Lokey of Houston and stepson Christopher McLean and wife Dawn of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren Connor and Daelynn; nieces and nephews John Lokey and family, Maryted Keller and family, Dan Lokey and family, Maria Dameron and family and Raymond Ted Shelton.
