Mr. Hudson was a manager of National Machinery in Nuremberg, Germany, for 30 years. He retired in 1991. He lived in Rednitzhembach, Germany.
He was married in 2002 to Janetta Bruce Lamb of Groom. They had been high school sweethearts in Dumas. They lived part-time in Germany and part-time in Texas, where each had families.
Hudson was a member of First Baptist Church in Groom.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He served three years in the Army as First Lieutenant, after attending Officer Candidate School in Lawton, Oklahoma, receiving top marks.
He had a special love for family and friends, big dogs and small children. He often referred to the little ones as a “tough one,” and he frequently talked of his son as a baby and growing up. He also loved reading, crossword puzzles, and western movies.
Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Jessie, a younger brother Jack, and his first wife Elfriede.
Survivors include his wife Janetta; a son Thomas Hudson and wife Carolina of Lauf/Simonshofen, Germany; a stepdaughter Helga Zillich and husband Horst of Rednitzhembach, Germany; stepson Jon Mark Beilue and wife Sandy of Amarillo; stepdaughter Andrea Hooten and husband Chris of Little Rock, Arkansas; and brother-in-law Hans Kaas, of Schwabach, Germany. He had seven step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.Mr. Hudson’s ashes will be scattered in the breaks of the Texas Panhandle
