He began working in the wholesale plumbing business as a salesman in 1969 and advanced to become President of Amarillo Winn Supply where he still worked up until his passing. He loved working and said that “he was having too much fun to retire.” Gerald did what so many seek out, he was passionate about his work and the customers he served and was successful in every facet of his career. Gerald was a devout Christian who served God his entire life in the Catholic Church, becoming a member at St. Thomas at its inception in 1984. Gerald enjoyed traveling with his wife, Truetta, and saw much of the world through business trips to Monte Carlo, Athens, Greece, London, and church sponsored trips such as visiting the Holy Lands, Ireland, and Rome. Gerald’s smile and joy was forever present, and he could make anyone smile, never meeting a stranger.
