Gerald Strueber

Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, TX, with Dr. Jeff Raines of First Baptist Church officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Mr. Strueber was born on March 26, 1929 in Dodge City, Kansas to Gerald and Frances Strueber.  He married Bettie Lou Simpson on December 27, 1953.  Mike moved to Amarillo at the age of 4.  He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1947.  He played football at the University of Texas.  After an injury he returned to Amarillo and graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  He was a Commercial Photographer.Survivors include his wife Bettie of Amarillo, TX; a sister, The Honorable Mary Lou Robinson of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Brenda Bogue and husband David of Las Vegas, NV and Kim Ewing and husband Greg of Panhandle; five grandchildren, Hunter Sims, Coleton Sims, Chad Ewing, Matt Ewing, and Addisen Ewing.Memorials may be made to Arbors Nursing Home, 1910 Medi Park Drive, Amarillo, TX 79106 or BSA Hospice, c/o Olivia Angels, P O Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105,
