Gidley Lamarr Wood

Gidley Lamarr Wood, 76, of Amarillo died May 15, 2018.

Family will receive friends Friday, May 18, 2018 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Gidley was born July 28, 1941 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Horrace and Sybil Wood. Though he was a man of few words, he was a “well” man and a great storyteller. Gidley loved the mountains. Some of his favorite times were spent riding his motorcycle. He loved his buddy, Otto.

Gidley was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Wood.

He is survived by his children, Kelly McClaran and husband Greg of Argyle, TX, Derek Wood and wife Holle of Denton, TX, Ashley Koen and husband David of Amarillo, and Lauren Wood of Amarillo. His grandchildren, Ryan McClaran, Ross McClaran, Janae McClaran, Ainsley Wood, Aidan Wood, Symphony Koen, Dace Morgan, and Waverly Koen; his great grandchildren, Lane McClaran and Gavin McClaran; and his twin brother, Harlow Wood and wife Ann, and their son, David Wood.

The Family suggests memorials be made to the Salvation Army, 400 South Harrison, Amarillo, TX.
