Glenna Scott

March 20, 1927 — September 18, 2018

Glenna Scott of Amarillo, TX went home to be with the Lord September 18, 2018.

A visitation will be held from 2-3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.

Glenna was born to Ruse and Beaulah Skidmore on March 20, 1927 in Lamar County, TX. She was a strong woman who cared greatly for her family. She was affectionately known as “Granny” to family and friends. Glenna has a great love for children and was instrumental in raising three generations. Her happiness in life was being surrounded by God and loved ones.

God gives miracles to those who believe, courage to those with faith, hope to those who dream, and love to those who accept.

The family suggests memorials be made to The Children' Miracle Network.

God gave us a miracle; she lived a long and simple life. She had faith and courage for the many challenges of life. She had hopes and dreams for her family to have a better life than her. Glenna was stubborn at times, but her last words to family and nursing staff at Legacy was “I love you.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Perry Skidmore, Harley Skidmore, Johnny Skidmore, Gene Skidmore, and Joe Skidmore; sisters, Elsie Gordan, Faye Ausmus, and Irene Ward Oldham; and one child, Linda Hunnicutt Morales.

Glenna is survived by brother, Rab Skidmore; sister, Lorene Hatcher; children, Stephen Scott of Pensacola, FL, David Scott, and Karen Bradshaw both of Amarillo, TX; three grandchildren, Joshua Bradshaw, Jennifer Bradshaw, and Robin Scott; three great-grandchildren, Christian Bradshaw, Echo Bradshaw, and Bella Bradshaw; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Interim Healthcare for their loving care of Glenna.

“A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones” Proverbs 17:22
