Gwen Lane Potts

Gwen Lane Potts, 95, of Amarillo died June 24, 2019.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2019 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Gwen was born February 13, 1924 in Leedy, Oklahoma to Fred and Lucille Fegel. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1942 then attended WTSU. Gwen married Bill Lane on October 22, 1947 in Amarillo. They spent 17 cherished years together before his passing on November 13, 1964. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and loved hosting a weekly women’s group of china painters. Gwen married Charles Potts on October 28, 1967 in Amarillo, together they spent 35 wonderful years together before his passing on March 20, 2002. She was deeply involved in donating time to Kiva Shriners. Gwen treasured baking, planning elaborate tea parties and holidays for her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Fegel, Jr. in 1931; mother, Lucille M. Fegel in 1967; her first husband, Bill Lane in 1964; her father, Fred S. Fegel in 1981; her second husband, Charles Potts in 2002; and grandson, Zachary Lane in September 10, 2009.

Gwen is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Holton and husband, James of Bushland, son, Fred Lane and wife, Jan of Bushland; grandchildren, Seth, Miles, Will, Tara, Jessica, Berkley, Nicole, Libby, and Rebecca; and numerous great-grandchildren.
