Harold Franklin Pancake, known by his friends and family as "Grampy" or "Red" for his curly red hair. Born and raised in southern Indiana where he met and married his bride of 62 years, Eloise Catt Pancake in 1948. They were married in Mt. Olympus, Indiana. He attended Amarillo College and Austin Pea College in Clarksville, TN. His work career included a tour in the Air Force spent in Wichita, Kansas and Amarillo in the training command where he was awarded the presidential unit citation He retired as a Forman from Pantex in 1990 where he worked for 32 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Valle de Oro and a Mason for over 50 years. He was a member of the Albert Pike Lodge in Wichita, KS and transferred his membership to Palo Duro lodge. He collected and rebuilt vintage cars, was an avid woodworker and enjoyed sharing his craft with family and friends. Harold and Eloise loved to travel and visited places the world over. His greatest pleasure was time spent with his family celebrating and supporting them in all of the events in their lives. Survivors are his wife Eloise Pancake, a daughter Susie Gonce and her husband Ron of Canyon, a son Dale Pancake and his wife Peggy of Amarillo, three grandchildren, Larry Pancake of Valle de Oro, Andromache Weaver of Japan and Landon Gonce of Lubbock, two great grandchildren, Shyanne Pancake and Caitlyn Pancake, a sister Ladonna Moore and a brother Bob Pancake, both of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Royal and Marie Pancake, a sister Patricia Wilson and a brother Wayne Pancake.The family will receive friends and family on Monday evening the 29th of November from 6:30 until 7:30 at Schooler Funeral home 4100 S Georgia.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday the 30th of November at Amarillo South Church with Pastor Gene Goodwin of First Baptist Church of Valley de Oro; interment will be at Llano Cemetery East.
