Hazel Maxine Brannon

June 26, 1922 — March 29, 2014

Maxine Brannon 91, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Comanche Trail Church of Christ with Minister Loran Harper officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Maxine was born on June 26, 1922 in Mitchell County to Albert and Lula Lee. She married the love of her life Charles on October 29, 1938. They were married for 67 years living most of their lives in Portales, NM.  She was primarily a homemaker but did work for a short time at the cafeterias of ENMU and Portales High School.  She was an avid quilter, sewer, and a fantastic cook. She always made sure there was plenty of food. Maxine was very family oriented.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Merlene Brannon, a son Quincey, granddaughter Angela Smith and a brother Pete Lee.

She is survived by a daughter Karen Smith and husband Jim of Conroe; a son Troy Brannon of Amarillo; daughter in law Shirley Brannon of Amarillo; Sister Glenda Cornstubble of North Richland Hills; brothers Paul Lee and wife Joyce of Portales, and Elmer Lee of  Moreland, OK; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren
