Helen May Alderson, 81 of Amarillo , passed away on November 5, 2009. Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Helen May Conger was born in Burlington, Colorado on February 12, 1928. She met James Harold Alderson in Plainview and they married in Portales on April 27, 1945. They lived in Plainview, Texas until 1979 and then moved to Pampa where she lived until her husband’s death in 1997. She then moved to Amarillo where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, her parents, Maude and Alfred Conger, Sr., one sister, and five brothers.
Helen May is survived by her four daughters, Barbara Thomas of Pampa, TX, Jaynee Lancaster of Austin, TX , Linda Morgan of Austin, TX, and Sandra Murphy of Amarillo, TX; one son, Gary Alderson of San Angelo, TX.; one sister, LaWanda Stambaugh of Plainview, TX; one Brother Alfred Conger, Jr of Alamogordo, NM; and her lifelong friend, Lee Shugart of Plainview, TX; She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to Olivia’s Angels, BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105
