Helen Becker Marotte age 89 of Amarillo, died Wednesday January 19, 2011.Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday January 24, 2011 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Jeff Raines officiating. Graveside Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday January 29, 2011 Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas.Mrs. Marotte was born March 6, 1921, in Brush, Colorado, to Henry and Catherine Becker.  She was raised in Snyder, CO and graduated from Snyder High School.  She married Ira Marotte on May 5, 1961 in Denver, Colorado.  She worked in Denver until her husband’s retirement from the Denver Police Department in 1971.  They lived in Mesa, Arizona until his death in 1973.  Aunt Helen continued living in Mesa until moving to Amarillo, Texas in November, 2000 where she resided until her death.Aunt Helen was a very generous person with her family and friends.  She enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers, and spending time with family.   Helen loved the Lord, her family, and friends.She was preceded in death by husband, her parents, older brothers, Jacob Becker, Henry Becker Jr., Harry Becker, and older sister, Alvina Mayes. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Loma Faye Becker and her nephew Steven and wife R’Jana Becker, all of Amarillo. Her grand-niece Sara and husband Ryan Esch of Plano, Texas. Other nieces and nephews, Kenneth and wife Carol Becker, Sandy and husband  Robert Baker, Barbara and husband Jerry Bass, Daniel and wife Cheryl Becker, Randall and wife Elesa Becker, Shirley Baker, Georgia Starbuck, Gary Becker, David Becker, and Mark and wife Pat Becker all of Colorado; a step son Rick Marotte of Georgia; as well as extended family members. The family suggests memorials be to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church, 1201 South Tyler, Amarillo, Texas.
