Herman C. White, Sr., 69 of Amarillo died February 23, 2022.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Greater Love Temple, 811 S. Tennessee. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Herman was born August 24, 1952 in Wellington, TX to Anita Louise White. He played football and graduated from Palo Duro High School on May 26, 1971. Herman attended and graduated from Amarillo College in 1973 with a degree in electric engineering. He worked as a longtime foreman for Southwestern Public Services (SPS) and Xcel Energy for 41 years. Herman was married to Linda White for 36 years before her passing. He was a dedicated and devout husband, father, and Man of God. Herman was a Deacon at North Heights Church of Christ. He was a beacon of light to his family introducing them to Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Davis White; mother, Anita Louise White; and brother, Lloyd White.
Herman is survived by his sons, Herman White, Jr. and Steven Vinson both of Amarillo; sisters, Debra Reed of Denton, Renia Tatum of Amarillo, Yolanda Flenory of Amarillo, Terri Vinson of Dallas, Kimberly Vinson of Amarillo, Betty Moore of Amarillo, and Gail Moore of Amarillo; brothers, Ricky Vinson, Edrick Vinson, Billy Don Vinson, and Herman Moore all of Amarillo; and father, Billy Vinson of Amarillo.
