Hermie Preston, 90, of Amarillo died December 8, 2020.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Hermie was born August 29, 1930 in McLean, TX to Herman and Audrey Hunt. She married Kenneth Preston on June 27, 1948 and together they were members of Comanche Trail Church of Christ where she taught bible study class. Hermie loved to read and tend to her garden. She worked as the director of early childhood for Lawndale Comanche Trail Church of Christ. Hermie also worked as a ministry teacher at Amarillo Christian. She worked for a time at Potter County Tax office and Golden Spread Roofing.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; her parents; and 7 brothers.

Hermie is survived by son, Robert Preston and wife, Kay; daughter, Katrina Schultz and husband, Raymond; grandchildren, Kenton Schultz, Tara Schultz, Maycie Schultz, Jason Preston, Jonathan Preston, Dorothy Nivens, Tambria Allen, Debra Tresize, Van Duckworth and Kevin Duckworth; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Benevolence Fund at Comanche Trail Church of Christ.
