Hershell Terry, 86 of Amarillo died March 21, 2014.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Rev. Kevin Deckard of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mr. Terry was born May 2, 1927 in Sayre, OK to Herbert and Georgia Terry. He served in the United States Army during the Korean war. Hershell married Fran May 5, 1955 in Clovis, NM and together they celebrated 57 years. He worked in the car business and retired after 35 years. He worked for Cadahay Meats, Hersmeyer Autos, owned Terry Motor Co., worked at Collins Chrysler, Garner Olds and Cadillac, and Village Cadillac. Mr. Terry was a charter member of Tascosa Lions Club and served as Past President of the Beacon Sunday School Class at Polk Street United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, traveling, and going to family reunions and spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Harlan, Haskell, Hubert, Harold.
Hershell is survived by his wife Fran, a son Steve D. Terry and wife Kathy, a daughter Dee Ann Ligon and husband, Van and a sister Helen Taylor. Three grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, and Jason, and three great grandchildren.
