Horace "Bo or POP" Boaz Holliman

September 3, 1937 — September 13, 2021

Horace "Bo or POP" Boaz Holliman, 84, of Amarillo Texas entered heaven on September 13, 2021.

A private family memorial service will be held at Llano Cemetery at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Bo, like his favorite actor Dan Blocker “Hoss” from Bonanza, could be described as a likeable big fellow who was kind, caring and sensitive…while all the while being the burly West Texan simple man he was. He will be missed by many.

Born September 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Horace and Cathern Holliman. He was raised in Wellington, TX, and attended Wellington High School where he was a proud member of the Future Farmers of America. This passion and his inspiring work ethic would lead him to a long career of 46 years in the dairy business. Bo was proud of his years at the dairy where he held various positions including Route Supervisor and Ice Cream Supervisor.

He was proceeded in death by his wife and soulmate of 56 years, Patricia Holliman, his daughter-in-law Janet, his grandson Cody and two great-grandchildren. He leaves behind sons Jim and wife Teresa, Joe, Don, Michael and wife Brandi and his daughter, Kathy. Survivors also include brother De and wife Dottie; Sisters Rebecca and husband Ralph Owens and Alcie and husband Bill Estes, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Bo cherished his family, enjoyed sharing stories from the past, bragging about his grandchildren, watching old westerns, snacking on oatmeal crème pies and enjoying a plate of Mexican food.

In closing with a quote from one of Bo’s favorite actors, John Wayne, “Death can come for you any place, any time. It’s never welcomed. But if you have done all you can do, and it’s your best, in a way I guess you’re ready for it.”  Bo was ready. He is ready to recreate his favorite memory with his beloved Patricia when he crossed the state line to marry her. Now he is crossing into heaven to be with her forever.
