Hugh W. Hamilton, 85, of Amarillo died, November 19, 2013.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Arden Road Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Bigham officiating. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Hugh was born April 13, 1928 in Texline, TX to Hugh and Dorothy Hamilton. He married Joyce Shaw April 29, 1967. They were members of Arden Road Baptist Church. Hugh was an employee of the City of Amarillo in the Street Department where he was given the nickname “Sam.” Hugh enjoyed woodworking and working in the yard.
Hugh was preceded in death by his son, Earnest Grosscup, and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, two daughters, Jeannie Fuller, and Brenda Smith and husband, Jackie, a son, Charles Price all of Amarillo, his grandchildren, Stephanie Cox and husband Thomas, Jackie Smith, Jr. and wife Christina, and Sonja Smith and husband Chub, eight great grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Family suggests memorials be made to Arden Road Baptist Church Youth Department, 6701 Arden Road, Amarillo, Texas 79109
Family will receive friends Wednesday, from 5:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
