Iris Claudette Sharp age 80 died peacefully on May 30, 2016 in Amarillo after a long and difficult struggle with cancer. Claudette was born April 5, 1936 in White Deer, Texas; the daughter of Claud G. and Maud E. Sharp. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Claudette grew up in and around several ranches throughout the Texas Panhandle before graduating from Borger High School in 1954. After completing Weaver Airline School in Houston, Texas in 1956, she spent the majority of her working life in the travel industry as a Certified Travel Consultant.
Later in life, her biggest passion was spending time with her children and watching her grandchildren excel in various activities such as academics, music and sports.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard L. Sharp; her second husband Jack D. Love; four sisters, Bonnie Weatherly, Beryl Darby, Norma Ruth Rogers and Martha Boyce.
Claudette is survived by three sons, Bryan Sharp and wife Karla, Chris Sharp and wife Traci all of Amarillo and Courtney Sharp of Midland; a daughter Lisa Sharp of Amarillo; a sister Gaynell Grissom of Keller; nine grandchildren, Hailey Sharp, Hannah Simmons and husband Cole, Hutton Sharp, Rylee Sharp, Reagan Sharp, Madison Sharp, Darby Sharp, Aden Sharp and Maggie Sharp; two great grandchildren; and her dearest friend Betty Holloway of Canyon.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Dick Marcear of The Church of Christ at the Colonies will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be sent in her name to the High Palins Drifters Scholarship Fund, The Harrington Cancer Center or a favorite charity.
