Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Panhandle. Rev. Ron Pingelton, Ky Martin, and Rev. Jeremy Buck will be officiating. Private family interment will be held at the Panhandle Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia, Amarillo, TX.
Jack was born in Paris, Texas on March 22, 1924 to Richard Eli and Lucy Caroline Martin. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married the love of his life, Rozella Burgin on August 2, 1947 in Groom. Jack was a farmer throughout his entire life and had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Panhandle since 1958.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norman and Richard Martin; and by a great-grandson, Tripp Pingelton in May 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Rozella; two daughters, Becky Pingelton and husband Ron of Alva, OK and Sheila Quirk and husband Lynn of Hereford; a son, James Martin and wife Janet of Panhandle; a sister, Elois Frederiksen and husband Earl Gene of San Angelo; six grandchildren, Keri and Kyle Bruce, Kevin and Brooke Pingelton, Karmen and Jeremy Buck, Ky and Emily Martin, Travis and Ashley Quirk and Jeff and Ashley Quirk; great-grandchildren, Dayne and Tucker Bruce, Karsen Buck, and Hailey and Kierstyn Quirk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
