Jacob Conner Woods, the most perfect human to ever walk this planet, passed on to his forever home unexpectedly and without explanation on July 3, 2019. During his 22 years he brought joy, love and genuine laughter to all that were lucky enough to cross his path. His caring and gentle spirit will live on through all that knew him.
Jacob was born in Panhandle, Texas on January 2, 1997. He was raised in Amarillo until the age of 16, where he attended Amarillo High School and fostered his relationship with his Savior at the Pinnacle Community Church. He then moved to Odessa, where he found his MOJO! and graduated from Permian High School in 2015. Jacob moved back to his home of Amarillo in 2016 where he was regional manager for TexasToGo. His most recent employment was at Lazy Gator and Southlawn Liquors. His plans to enter the military were in the works as he was preparing to make his family even more proud than we already are. Jacob was looking forward to his promising future. His love for his Lone Star State (and his Lone Star Beer) was evident. His shining star will always be “Big and Bright; Deep in the Heart of Texas”.
During Jacob’s free time, he pranked his friends, spent time showing his family how much he adored us, making us all laugh, providing the strength only a Brother can give, devoted his loyalty to the Cowboys & Longhorns (in addition to all of his other Texas Teams) by never missing a game, and took off for the mountain every chance he got!
Jay is survived by his mother; Karen (Vicory) Woods, his father; Douglas Woods, his step-father; Gary Vicory, his three beautiful sisters; Haley Woods, Erika Woods, and Michael-Ann (Mikey) Woods, as well as his lifelong best friend and brother; Thomas Weise, his close friend and longtime roomie; Tripp Lyles, his grandparents; Nobert and Maggie Pohl, his great-grandmother; Eleanor Koeneke, His nephew Corey Rhoades, his niece; Lily Brandon, 28 cousins, 11 Aunts and Uncles, his two dogs; Tank and Suzie, and countless stellar friends whom he held near and dear.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 2:30 (or as Jay would call it “Tooth-Hurty”) in the afternoon. We will celebrate a life well lived @ Pinnacle Community Church: 7305 S Coulter, Amarillo, Texas 79119. Kurt Oheim, Jacob’s pastor who baptized him at age 7, will officiate.
The family thanks you for sharing the love for our Family Hero, who is eternally embedded into our souls. Cheers to “The Legend”- jduggie!
