James Roy Bradshaw

February 25, 1927 — March 3, 2018

James “Roy” Bradshaw, age 91, passed away on March 3, 2018.  He was born on the 25th day of February, 1927 in Logan, New Mexico.  He was drafted to serve during World War II and immediately reported within weeks of graduating from high school in Logan, New Mexico.  Roy was proud of his service as a Sergeant in the United States Army and traveled extensively to many countries transporting prisoners of war after World War II ended.  Upon coming back from the service, Roy returned to ranching with his uncle, Robert L. Meeks (“Uncle Bob”).  Roy was an extremely tough, dedicated and hardworking individual, who continued ranching until his passing.

Roy is survived by his four daughters, Lisa, Julie, Lydia, and Monica, and four grandchildren.  Lisa Bradshaw and her son, Nicolas, reside in Jackson Heights, New York.  Lisa is an X-ray Technologist at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.  Julie Bradshaw has her own dental practice and resides in Tucson, Arizona.  Her daughter, Christy Greenwald, attends college at Northeastern in Boston, Massachusetts and aspires to be a physical therapist.  Lydia Bradshaw-Rabie and her husband reside in New York City.  Lydia has a Masters in Art and works for MTA Arts providing arts and design to the New York City subways.  Monica and her husband, Troy Coolidge, and their two daughters, Connor Coolidge and Katie Coolidge, reside in Flower Mound, Texas.  Monica has her own law practice, and Troy works as a manager for Bon Air Service Company.  Connor is a senior at Marcus High School and plans to study environmental engineering in college.  Katie is a freshman at Marcus High School and plays volleyball and soccer.  Roy is also survived by his younger brother, Bob Bradshaw, and his wife, Janet, who reside in Logan, New Mexico, Bob’s two sons, Doug Bradshaw and Mike Bradshaw, who both reside in Dayton, Ohio and Janet’s children, Keith Feerer and wife, Joyce, Russell Feerer, and wife, Kelley, and Robin and T.J. Smith.

Services with be held at the Nara Visa United Methodist Church in Nara Visa, New Mexico on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. CST.  Burial will immediately follow at the Nara Visa Cemetery followed by a short reception at the Nara Visa Community Center.  Memorials in Roy’s honor can be made to the Nara Visa United Methodist Church or to the Nara Visa Community Center, both located in Nara Visa, New Mexico 88430. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, Amarillo.
