James Arnold Kinard, age 69, of Amarillo, died suddenly in Amarillo on November 8, 2024.
The family will celebrate his life on November 16, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 at Callie Haney's residence. If you are interested in attending, please text or call Tricia at 806-341-8318 for directions.
James was born on October 22, 1955, in Muleshoe, Texas, to his parents, Dallas Orie and Hattie Boyd Kinard. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1973, and throughout his life, James worked as a truck driver and a mechanic. He was known for always having a smile on his face and never meeting a stranger. James had several hobbies, including watching westerns, following NASCAR, boating, and fishing. He was a fan of football, his favorite teams being the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. However, his greatest passion was his family.
On April 14, 2005, James married his best friend, Tricia Haney, in Las Vegas. Over the next nineteen years, they enjoyed spending quality time together with family and their pets. One of James's best attributes was his consistent presence; he tried to ensure that those around him felt loved and appreciated. His smile and wry sense of humor will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Dayna Kinard.
James is survived by his wife, Tricia; his mother, Hattie Kinard of Possum Kingdom; two sisters, Kathryn Rogers of Possum Kingdom and Dee Grumbles and husband Bobby of Muleshoe; his son Brandon Kinard of Amarillo; a special friend, Callie Haney of Amarillo, who introduced James and Tricia, and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
