SPC James Eldon Miller, age 43 of Amarillo, died February 16, 2023.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First Nazarene Church. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
James was born on November 15, 1979 to Norman and Carol Miller. He attended Palo Duro High School before entering in to the US Army. He proudly served his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom as an Abram Tank gunner in the 3 rd Infantry Division Alpha Company 1/64 Armor Brigade where he was known as “Tex” and “Twin Towers”.
After his military service, James volunteered for Randall County Fire Department and the Borger Fire Department. James was also very active in the VFW Post 1475 and Hope Lives Here. He had a heart to serve others.
He married Jennifer Webb on November 5, 2019. At the time of his death he was working as a crew chief for TXDot.
He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Miller.
James is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two daughters Emberlyn Nadine Striley and Kylee Webb; two sons, Drake Miller and Brayden James Miller; mother; Carol Orr; his sister, Christy Walker and husband Darryl; three nieces, Lauryn, Alexis and Paislee, and his best friend and service dog, Sgt. Booker.
