James Holt age 60 of Dumas died Friday, October 12, 2012 in Amarillo.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Hamlin, TX with Chaplain Bob Webb officiating. Burial will be at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
James Holt was born to V.E. (Pinky) Holt and Mary Lou Coplen Holt August 27, 1952 in McCamey. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1970. He attended West Texas State in Canyon. He married Karen Sue Sellers November 4, 1978. He worked for Shell Pipe Line in Hamlin and Denver City. He enjoyed golf and was an avid landscaper, loved to cook and share his creations and loved to share his knowledge of sports and music.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, of Dumas; children, Jessica Miller and husband Shane Miller of Denver City, and Jamie Detten and husband Cory Detten of Pearland; a brother Terry and wife Terry Lynn of Corinth; brother in laws, Charlie Sellers and wife Laura of Amarillo, Pinky Sellers of Lubbock; grandchildren, Jolie and Emily Miller; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Sonny, Stephen, Stephenie, James, Chas, Renee, Robin, and Scott; and numerous wonderful friends.
